During glandular fever treatment, when the immune system is under stress, secondary conditions like urinary tract infections can develop.

Unlike most respiratory and gastrointestinal infections, urinary tract infections are usually caused by a bacteria – typically Escherihia coli (E.coli). The cause of the infection is usually contamination of the vagina or urethra with faeces from the bowel. From there these microbes can travel to the rest of the urinary tract and cause infection.

Apart from immune suppression, other triggers for UTIs can include irritation of the urinary tract from tight clothing, a diaphragm, spermicides, sex, bubble baths, chlorinated pools or even eating foods like spices, coffee, alcohol, citrus, chocolate and bananas.

UTI symptoms can include pain on urination, blood or pus in urine, urgency to urinate, fever and malaise. Some patients find that their urine is cloudy and smells very strong. During glandular fever treatment some symptoms like fever, malaise and fatigue can seem similar to those seen during a UTI.

Here’s some steps I recommend my patients with UTIs follow. These steps can be incorporated safely into a glandular fever treatment plan.

Drink lots of water and pure cranberry juice. Cranberry juice can stop E.coli from adhering to the walls of the bladder and urinary tract. It is also available in a capsule form and can be even taken as a preventative if you are prone to urinary tract infections.

Take an immune boosting supplement with vitamin C. Ascorbic acid, the free form of vitamin C, is a powerful urinary tract bactericide. By increasing the acidity of the urine, urinary tract infections can be curtailed. Vitamin C is also an essential part of glandular fever treatment

Eat lots of garlic and parsley which act as antibacterials and diuretics. These foods are also good for glandular fever treatment.

If after a few the UTI has not improved, then antibiotics could be considered. It is worthwhile getting a urine sample tested to confirm there is a bacterial infection. During glandular fever treatment, be aware that antibiotics can sometimes trigger a skin rash.

Do not delay emptying the bladder – you need to urinate every two to three hours, and always after intercourse.

For women, always wipe yourself from front to back after urination or emptying your bowels.

Wear cotton underwear and avoid pantihose.

If prone to infections consume lots of natural diuretics like celery, parsley, watermelon, dandelion tea, vegetable juices and salads.

Herbs like echinacea and olive leaf are good preventatives. These are also great immune boosters for glandular fever treatment.

There is a lot that natural therapies can offer for the prevention and treatment of UTIs. For further information on natural glandular fever treatment and how to avoid secondary conditions like urinary tract infections please refer to the e-book “Nature’s Amazing Mononucleosis Cures” by qualified naturopath Elizabeth Noble.

There are 4 cornerstones to effective glandular fever treatment:

1. A strong healthy immune system is the first step in a glandular fever treatment plan. You can fortify your immune system to fight the virus with nutrients like vitamin C and zinc, anti-viral herbs like garlic and olive leaf extract, and positive lifestyle changes like stress management and healthy eating.

2. The adrenal glands are frequently run down or exhausted in this illness. They must be nurtured in order to help you cope with stress and boost your energy. This can be done through stress management techniques, deep quality sleep, aromatherapy oils and the support of family, friends and a caring health professional.

3. The liver is often inflamed and sluggish so a good liver and lymphatic detox is beneficial during glandular fever treatment. You can get a liver cleanser from your naturopath or health food shop . You can also support your liver and lymph with massage, graded exercise, foods and herbs.

4. Natural glandular fever treatment must provide anti-inflammatory foods and herbs to help relieve symptoms like sore throat, swollen glands, aching muscles and an enlarged liver. A fresh food diet based on vegetables, low carb fruit, quality protein, essential fats and pure water is essential.

Elizabeth Noble’s e-book on natural glandular fever treatment outlines the exact steps to take in order to eliminate this nasty virus and reclaim your health and life.

This information can help:

If you are in the initial, acute stage of the illness

If your infection is severe and chronic. The root causes are the same as the first day.

Even if the virus fever has triggered Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or an autoimmune condition like MS or sarcoidosis, then this information is essential to re-balance your immunity, cleanse your body and repair your adrenal glands. By tackling the contributing factors of your disease using a holistic, multi-dimensional approach you will eradicate the toxic internal environment that’s hindering your ability to beat this disease.

For further information on natural glandular fever treatment please refer to Elizabeth’s e-book “Nature’s Amazing Mononucleosis Cures”. The e-book also comes with 30 days personal email support with Elizabeth if you need advice on your individual concerns.

If you are undergoing glandular fever treatment then dealing with bowel problems like constipation is a priority. Constipation occurs when food residues and wastes move too slowly through the large bowel. It is important that the bowels move at least once a day. Beyond this, harmful toxins are reabsorbed into the body. Constipation may contribute to fatigue, weight gain, gas, headaches, bad breath, varicose veins, diverticulitis and bowel cancer.

In most cases constipation arises from insufficient fluid and fibre in the diet. Lack of adequate fluid and food can occur during glandular fever treatment due to a poor appetite or sore throat which makes swallowing difficult. Bowel problems can also result from the Epstein Barr virus infecting the gastrointestinal tract. Other causes of constipation can be poor muscle tone, lack of exercise, iron tablets, stress, pregnancy or a sudden change in routine like when travelling.

The use of laxatives should not be used during glandular fever treatment. Laxatives only perpetuate the constipation, as the bowel can lose muscle tone and become dependent on them. Laxatives can also cause too rapid an elimination, which will not allow valuable nutrients to be absorbed. Extra nutrients are essential during glandular fever treatment.

To treat constipation naturally ensure that you are having plenty of water (at least 2 – 3 litres per day), adequate regular exercise, sufficient rest and your allocated servings of daily vegetables and fruit. These are also the cornerstones of effective glandular fever treatment.

If you are still experiencing constipation you can add numerous natural food supplements to help your body overcome the problem. Some of the best which are safe during glandular fever treatment are:

Psyllium husks – start with 1 tablespoon in a glass of water once or twice a day and increase or decrease until you are achieving at least 1 bowel motion a day. Always get the natural unflavoured and sugar-free psyllium husks from your health food shop.

Aloe vera juice – dilute 20-30 ml in a small amount of warm water before meals. This is a wonderful gastrointestinal healer as well as having a slight laxative effect. Aloe vera is helpful for glandular fever treatment as it soothes sore throats and helps inflamed membranes.

Magnesium oxide – this is a good intestinal cleanser as it oxygenates and hydrates the bowel. It helps to liquefy and soften any impacted or hardened waste matter without causing any cramping. The recommended dose is ½ – 2 teaspoons per day in water away from food. The addition of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar can enhance magnesium oxide’s action (lemon juice and vinegar are also a great glandular fever treatment for sore throats). Since magnesium oxide liquefies toxic matter from the bowel it can cause a few loose motions due to its hydrating effect. Make sure you drink plenty of water after it. It is recommended that you do a bowel cleanse once a month, especially during glandular fever treatment. If you do need magnesium oxide daily it is a good idea to add extra potassium to your diet.

Lactobacillus and Bifido bacteria – good bowel function depends on the right balance of bacterial flora in the bowel. The right balance of bacteria is also essential for optimal immunity during glandular fever treatment. The most important bacteria which live in the bowel are Lactobacillus acidophilus (resides in the small bowel) and various Bifido bacteria species (which inhabit the large bowel). These bacteria actually die off with antibiotics, alcohol, the contraceptive pill, poor diet, stress, constipation, diarrhoea, and with age. When buying Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifido bacteria it is best to use a high potency powder with a count of billions of organisms per gram. They can be taken together in a glass of water before food. Natural unflavoured yoghurt can help to maintain your friendly bacteria and is a healthy food option during glandular fever treatment.

Oral immunogloblins – these are taken from concentrated milk whey powder and can greatly enhance the adhesion of the friendly bacteria to your intestinal wall. They are effective in treating numerous pathogens including Helicobacter pylori, Candida albicans, E.coli, Staphyloccus, Salmonella, Listeria and others.

Vitamin C can help soften the stools. Most people need 3-5 g although some may need more, especially during glandular fever treatment.

Magnesium, which acts as a muscle relaxant for the bowel, is also of benefit for constipation. Epsom salt baths due to their high magnesium content can be useful.

Natural glandular fever treatment includes natural herbs, nutrients, foods, stress management techniques, graded exercise and essential oils. These therapies are discussed in more detail in the e-book “Nature’s Amazing Mononucleosis Cures” by qualified naturopath Elizabeth Noble.

Are you or a loved one struggling with glandular fever? Are you frustrated or worried that you can’t shake your annoying symptoms and jump back into life and work? Fortunately there is now a safe, all natural glandular fever treatment that can relieve your symptoms and keep the virus at bay for life.

Run by Elizabeth Noble, a qualified naturopath in Sydney, the glandular fever treatment program has been used successfully in thousands of people both through Elizabeth’s clinic and her e-book and online support program. People have totally turned their lives around and re-vamped their health to a new level.

Imagine going from feeling constantly tired, dragging your feet through the day, battling constant sore throats, swollen glands, muscle aches, nausea and malaise to re-claim your health and life. Being able to jump out of bed in the morning, feeling motivated and excited about the day ahead. Breezing through the day with good energy, a focused mind, a clear throat and a happy mood to match. This could be you.

The key to successful glandular fever treatment is to focus on boosting the immune system, repairing exhausted adrenal glands and cleansing the liver and lymphatic system.

These strategies are outlined in Elizabeth’s e-book “Nature’s Amazing Mononucleosis Cures” which comes with 30 day free email support.

If you are in Sydney, you may prefer to see Elizabeth personally so she can access your needs and design a specific program.

On your first consultation you will undergo a comprehensive assessment of your symptoms, medical history, family history, diet and lifestyle. Elizabeth uses computerised iridology to reveal the function of your body’s systems and organs and to evaluate any predispositions you may have towards illness.

A “state of the art” body composition analyser is used to get accurate measurements of your muscle, fat and water content. This analyser also tells us your basal metabolic rate and cellular vitality. By doing this assessment at each consultation we can accurately gauge your progress and ensure that your cell function and body composition are improving.

Once Elizabeth has assessed your needs, she can then recommend a glandular fever treatment plan. Elizabeth may prescribe immune-boosting nutrients, adrenal repairing remedies and liver cleansing strategies. She will also give advice on the correct diet, graded exercise, stress management and lifestyle improvements for effective glandular fever treatment.

For further information on natural glandular fever treatment please refer to Elizabeth’s e-book “Nature’s Amazing Mononucleosis Cures”. If you are in Sydney, Australia you are welcome to see Elizabeth through the Utopia Wholistic Therapy Centre for a personalised glandular fever treatment plan.

Tiredness and fatigue must be addressed during glandular fever treatment otherwise the illness can linger – or develop into chronic fatigue.

Adrenal repairing nutrients like the B complex, vitamin C and magnesium are the forefront of effective glandular fever treatment. To get the right dosages these supplements will probably be needed to be taken as separate supplements. For children, a liquid or powdered version is most easily tolerated.

A healthy diet is an essential part of glandular fever treatment. Focus on a healthy intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, protein foods, whole grains, nuts, seeds and natural oils. Minimise your intake of sugar which is known to cause blood sugar fluctuations and trigger tiredness and cravings. Drinking plenty of pure water, herb teas, green tea and freshly squeezed juices will keep you hydrated and feeling good.

Natural glandular fever treatment should aim to reduce stress and worry. Relaxation techniques like meditation, listening to music, spending time with good friends or family, or enjoying a favourite hobby are all good choices.

If you are having trouble sleeping then there are some sleep-inducing herbs like Valerian, skull cap and hops that can help you get a good night’s sleep. Epsom salt baths which are naturally high in magnesium are excellent to relax muscles and induce sleep.

The use of aromatherapy oils like lavender or lemon can calm your mind. These oils can be burnt in an oil burner or added to a warm bath or massage oil to relax tired, aching muscles.

A graded exercise program with a daily dose of sunshine will prime your immune system and lift your spirits. Choose an exercise you enjoy, and aim to do it three to five times a week. During glandular fever treatment choose an exercise that does not over-exhaust you. This could mean gentle walking, swimming, cycling, tai chi or yoga.

For more information on how to beat tiredness and fatigue, please refer to my e-book “Nature’s Amazing Mononucleosis Cures”. The e-book is a comprehensive guideline to natural glandular fever treatment including the use of vitamins, minerals, herbs, diet, essential oils, graded exercise, liver cleansing and stress management.

Sleep is of utmost importance during glandular fever treatments. Deep, quality sleep is when your body produces growth hormone – your body’s repair hormone. Growth hormone repairs your immune system and helps the body to build muscle which is essential during glandular fever treatments.

Yesterday I met a patient who is chronically sleep-deprived. Her husband goes to bed at 9pm because of an early start the next day. She is up till late getting the kids to bed, tidying the house, then finalising his orders for the next day. That’s fine. But guess what – she only gets 5-6 hours sleep! She has to get up early too in order to get the kids to school and get to her daytime job.

This patient is burning the candles at both ends. She is constantly tired and irritable and steadily gaining weight. She can’t seem to shake off her recent bout of mononucleosis, suffering from recurrent sore throats, swollen glands and malaise. With all her worries, her body is full of cortisol – the stress hormone that makes you constantly hungry, unfocused , weighty and fatigued.

She will never fully recover her health until she adds quality sleep into her glandular fever treatments. I have advised her to get to bed by 10 pm, delegate some of the housework out, get the kids to pack their homework the night before and take some sleep herbs like valerian, skullcap, passionflower and hops. The stress nutrients like magnesium, B complex and vitamin C are also invaluable during glandular fever treatments to help the body relax and re-charge exhausted adrenals.

If you are cutting down on your sleep you are putting your health in danger. Apart from poor immunity you are also more likely to have an increased risk of obesity, heart disease, diabetes and fibromyalgia.

For information on how to improve the quality and quantity of your sleep please refer to my e-book “Nature’s Amazing Mononucleosis Cures”. The e-book is a comprehensive guideline to natural glandular fever treatments including the use of vitamins, minerals, herbs, diet, essential oils, graded exercise and stress management. If you or a loved one are searching for effective glandular fever treatments, then this is a good place to start.

When treating glandular fever it is important to address the hormonal balance of the body. Many female sufferers suffer from dysmenorrhoea or period pain in varying degrees. The pain can range from mild to debilitating and can be accompanied by nausea, loose stools, headaches and back pain.

Period pain is primarily due to the effect of hormones called prostaglandins. Prostaglandins trigger the lining of the womb to shed. They cause the menstrual flow to start, which is why pain and cramping is worst at the beginning of the period. As the prostaglandins taper off, so does the pain.

Prostaglandins will increase inflammation and pain throughout the body. So when treating glandular fever you may find that any previous inflammation in your body will flare up during period time. Inflamed areas could include a sore throat, swollen lymph glands, painful muscles and an enlarged liver..

When treating glandular fever and to relieve period pain, good nutrition is essential. A healthy amount of body fat is also very important. This helps maintain good hormonal balance including that of the prostaglandins.

Gentle exercise like walking, yoga, cycling and swimming can help by improving circulation to the uterus. Exercise keeps the pelvis aligned and mobilised. Treating glandular fever also requires optimal nerve function. If you suspect your pelvis is out of alignment then seeing a good chiropractor or osteopath is recommended.

You can alleviate period pain with isometric exercises that free up the pelvis and improve circulation. For example when period pain hits, lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Ask a friend to hold your knees together whilst you try to prise your knees apart. Do this at least 3 times then repeat before doing the exercise in reverse.

Another helpful stretch is to get on all fours and arch your back up and down like a stretching cat. Repeat a few times in order to relieve period pain.

When treating glandular fever, attention must be given to balancing hormonal health. For further information on treating glandular fever naturally, please refer to the e-book “Nature’s Amazing Mononucleosis Cures” by qualified naturopath Elizabeth Noble.

During a glandular fever relapse, eating the right food is essential to helping your body heal.

Many researchers are now touting the Paleolithic or “hunter gatherer” diet as the world’s healthiest diet. It is showing promising results in the treatment of patients with a glandular fever relapse.

This way of eating is based on the diet common in the Stone Age, before the agricultural revolution. The theory is that humans are best adapted to the diet they were exposed to during their evolution. Agriculture and animal husbandry are fairly recent events in our evolution. They appeared around 10,000 years ago in the Middle East before spreading to the rest of the world over subsequent years. The last 10,000 years of our history represents only 1% of human evolution. This is not enough time to give our species adequate time to adapt to new introduced foods like grains, sugar and dairy. When you are recovering from a glandular fever relapse you want to make it as easy as possible for your body.

So what foods are in the Paleolithic diet and how can they help with a glandular fever relapse? The major foods found in a Stone Age diet are lean meats, fish, shellfish, seasonal fruits, vegetables, roots, eggs, nuts, seeds and small amounts of honey. These are the foods that are also recommended to boost immunity, control weight, and eliminate chronic diseases like diabetes, heart problems, high blood pressure and arthritis. These foods can all help in recovering from a glandular fever relapse.

The Paleolithic diet excludes foods like grains, dairy products, sugar, and refined fats. These foods can contribute to obesity, lowered immunity, heart disease and inflammation in the body (which is common in a glandular fever relapse). It is estimated that over 70% of the typical Western diet would not have been consumed by pre-agricultural people. These foods are relatively foreign to our genes.

There are still some hunter gatherer populations in the world that continue to consume a Paleolithic diet. These include the Kitavan Islanders in Papua New Guinea and native tribes in the Amazon. Studies on these populations show that conditions like obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension and chronic immune problems like a glandular fever relapse are virtually unheard of.

Other studies have introduced the Paleolithic diet to healthy Westernised people. Within 3 weeks of following a Paleolithic diet there was improved blood pressure, better glucose tolerance, improved cholesterol and lipid profiles, reduced weight and lower C-reactive protein (CRP is a marker of inflammation in the body). These positive results are what you would like to see in people who are recovering from a glandular fever relapse. These studies show that after only a short period of time, a Paleolithic diet has profound effects on metabolism and health. These beneficial effects are believe to stem from the high intake of fresh fruit and vegetables and the supply of adequate high quality protein.

If you are looking for a diet with immune boosting, healing qualities for the treatment of a glandular fever relapse then the Paleolithic diet should be considered. For further information on diet and natural treatments for glandular fever please refer to the e-book “Nature’s Amazing Mononucleosis Cures” by qualified naturopath Elizabeth Noble.
