Hi Hugo,
It sounds like you have started on some excellent supplements. I would also look at adding some magnesium and zinc. These are crucial for adrenal support and a strong immune system.

Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin so if you take more than your body needs, it will be excreted through the urine and stools. Your high protein diet is a great anti-inflammatory diet which should help ease your symptoms. Just be patient - these
treatments can take a few weeks to make major improvements in some people.

Hi Elizabeth

I am on a Vitamin C and herbal treatmnt program as prescribed by my Docter. I was just wonrering what the side effects of using too much vitamin C can be in term of toxicity? I'm not really worried about the diarhea etc. I am also taking several vitamin B complex tonics as well as Echinacea, Olive leaf extact, Ginger, Garlic and Omega 3 fatty acids (fish oil).

I have also recently started eating a high protein diet. do you think these treatments will be sufficient??

Please any help wil be appreciated, I'm desparate.

Kind regards,
Hugo

Hi Christina,
Thanks for your post. Sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with mono for a second time - that's frustrating.

Vitamin C is an excellent immune booster that can help your body fight EB virus. Personally I recommend my patients take it orally every day to bowel tolerance. IV's are OK if you have sensitive digestion or want to get to really high doses. Everyone is different - some people only need 2 or 3 IVs to get results - others can need months. It is common to feel bad after an IV as the virus is killed off in large amounts. Plan for a rest day, drink plenty of fluids and have a hot Epsom salt bath - they can all help alleviate the side effects.

Hi Elizabeth...

I have been diagnosed with mono for the 2nd time now. I had it 10 years ago when I was in my senior year of high school. I have had 3 treatments of IV Vitamin C (15 grams) mixed in w/ some b vitamins and glutathione. I have felt no difference and still feel absolutely exhaused. I am going to another practicioner who will upping the dosage of vitamin c to about 50 grams. How many IVs do you typically need to have to get rid of this horrible virus?

Hi Lauren,
Sorry to hear about your mono diagnosis. It sounds like you may have lost fluid - have you had any fever, vomiting or loose stools? It is important to stay hydrated with lots of pure water, fresh fruit and vegetables, herb teas, broth and soups. I recommend my patients use a buffered vitamin C like calcium or sodium ascorbate to minimise gastric irritation. The mono virus is spread through saliva and can be shed before your symptoms appeared or for several weeks after infection. In some cases it is spread for several months. Hope this helps.

Hello,
Well, I went to the doctors on December 31, 2010. I was tested for mono, and am positive. I was 134 pounds when I was at the doctors, and today I went on the scale and I am 105 pounds! Why did I loose so much weight? Also, what type of vitamin C could I use to cure this? Is it just the regular vitamins you take every day? Another, when do you think it would be okay for me to kiss again? I know, I have a lot of questions. I'm just worried.. :( One more question.. If I were to kiss someone before my symptoms for mono showed up, could they get mono as well?

Thank you,
Lauren :)
