EBV treatment (Epstein Barr virus) during menopause. Part 1.

Published by Elizabeth at 5:08 am under Natural treatments

Menopause in many cultures is seen as a symbol of maturity and wisdom. It is accepted as a gradual process of reduced sex hormone output , with few, if any side effects.

Unfortunately in our busy and stressed society, menopause is often a time of physical discomfort, distress and confusion. This is even more likely if you are undergoing EBV treatment when the body is stressed and rundown from battling this nasty virus.

What happens during menopause?

At menopause the ovaries cease to function. They stop producing the female sex hormones estrogen and progesterone. They continue to produce the male sex hormone testosterone for a couple of years after menopause. Testosterone can be converted to replacement estrogen by the muscle and fat cells. The adrenals also produce small amounts of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone precursors like DHEA (which are converted to testosterone in the liver).

Once the ovaries stop producing estrogen, the metabolic rate drops by about 5 percent. If the thyroid gland cannot step in and produce more thyroxin to boost metabolism, weight gain will follow. If the adrenals and liver are functioning well the production of the replacement sex hormones is adequate and the menopausal symptoms of hot flushes, anxiety and palpitations will not be experienced. However, if the liver is sluggish, and the adrenals and thyroid underactive, as is common during EBV treatment then weight gain and menopausal problems will occur.

The use of synthetic estrogen in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) during EBV treatment will also cause side effects if the liver is sluggish or toxic. An under functioning liver can’t break down the synthetic estrogen in HRT, leading to estrogen dominance and PMT like symptoms like breast soreness, headaches, depression, insomnia, weight gain and fluid retention.

Symptoms of menopause

Do you experience:

  • Irregular periods or cessation of periods
  • Unexplained weight gain
  • Dry skin, hair or vagina
  • Loss of libido
  • Painful intercourse
  • Tearfulness, mood swings and irritability
  • Fatigue
  • Hot flushes
  • Night sweats
  • Palpitations
  • Loss of breast tone

Some of these symptoms like fatigue, mood swings and irritability can also be seen during EBV treatment, however if the majority of the symptoms are familiar to you, particularly if you are over 40 years old, then it is likely that you are starting to go through menopause.

EBV treatment during menopause

Fortunately EBV treatment resulting in a natural symptom-free menopause can be achieved through the correct diet, supplements, herbs, detoxification and simple lifestyle improvements. EBV treatment during menopause will be discussed in more detail in the next blog.

These techniques are also explored in the ebook “Nature’s Amazing Mononucleosis Cures” by qualified naturopath Elizabeth Noble.

Does writing these blogs make you any money? It seems like it would take a long time to write these. I hope all the hard work pays off for you.

    Hi Nicole,

Thanks for your post. Unfortunately there is a not a great deal of money in blogging! I write a weekly blog for my loyal bunch of
EBV patients and for those who can’t afford my e-book or naturopathic services.

    Best Wishes
    Elizabeth
